Already setting herself apart from her peers with championships and accomplishments

Asia Mitchell just completed her freshman year at Oliver Ames High School in Easton, MA.  However, her list of accomplishments is much larger than most her age.  With the ability to play point guard, shooting guard and power forward, Asia earned a spot on the Oliver Ames state championship team which was loaded with seniors.  She saw time off the bench with this squad and also played in all playoff games as well as the championship game.

Asia’s winning habits dos not stop there; she also played on three AAU championship teams in 2007, 2008, and 2009, playing for the BayState Jaguar Elite team.  In 2010 her team also won a bronze medal in the Bay State Games.  As 2010 was a huge year for Asia her list of accomplishments is capped off with an invitation to the University of Virginia Elite Players Camp where Asia competed against top players from across the nation and continued to show her talent by gaining a spot on the all-star team.

Asia’s coaches describe her as good shooter and ball handler with excellent passing and court vision.  She moves the ball well in transition, has great foot work and is a persistent, quality defender.  According to her current coaches; Asia has a great attitude, she is a joy to coach and is a hard worker, she has the skills to play at the next level.

We will continue to follow Asia’s career as she will be a sophomore at Oliver Ames HS this year.
