High Programs displayed their top talent at team camp

 


The Stonehill College Women’s Basketball program hosted a number of high school teams from all over New England on July 31st and August 1.  The competition was great.  Teams played single elimination on Sunday to find a tournament champion. Listed below are a number of players who stood out in the contests.

Leigha Tacey: Senior, Foxboro High School, post player who works the high-low, short corner game well, good rebounder with good size, gets excellent positioning on the block.  Has committed to Bryant College.

Kayleen Whall: Senior, Foxboro High School, nice jump shot with good range, plays physical with strength, drives well to the rim and has a quick dish.

Ashley Snyder: Sophomore, Foxboro High School, plays for Mass Premier AAU club.  Post player with a presence in the paint, fast up and down the floor, rebounds well, knows how to get positioning, works inside-out game and is not afraid of initiating contact

Allie Perry: Sophomore, Foxboro High School, utility player with good size.  She plays a very physical game and uses her body well.

Kristen O’Neil: Junior, Winnacunnet High School, point guard who can drive and finish or shoot from behind the arc, can see offense developing and is patient with the ball, swings ball well, knows how to engage defense, quick on defense and fast down the floor.

Anna Sullivan: Junior, Winnacunnet High School, very athletic player who is smart on the floor, she is a great defender and has good range on her jump shot.

Sam Corker: Senior, Winnacunnet High School, true post player, nice touch in the paint, works well from the high post, plays big in the middle defensively.

Karly Gould: Sophomore, Winnacunnet High School, very physical post player, rebounds well, knows how to use her body and has a nice touch around the basket.

Avi Morrison: Junior, Winnacunnet High School, guard who plays well off the defense, knows how draw defenders and set up teammates for easy buckets.

Maddie Bouchard: Medfield High School, guard, knows how to create space on offense and how to use the court, strong floor presence, penetrates into the paint and can finish with contact.

Brenna Gonsalvas: Senior, Coyle Cassidy High School, fast, excellent ball handler and passer, can play inside or out, good shooter with range, strong and athletic, plays smart, aggressive defense, can finish with contact.  Solid understanding of the game with the ability to score from anywhere on the floor.

Delaney Adams: Junior, Coyle Cassidy High School, post, uses her body in the paint, rebounds well and can finish with contact

Andreya Desousa: Junior, Coyle Cassidy High School, post with a nice touch around the hoop, plays well with her back to the basket, solid footwork defending the block, strong with the ball, drives hard from high post.

Kelsey Dermody: Senior, Coyle Cassidy High School, point guard who does a very good job getting the ball into the posts, patient on offense, sees floor well, strong passer

Courtney Preston: Junior, Coyle Cassidy High School, post, physical player who boxes out and rebounds very well, always hustles for the ball, not afraid to make contact.

Trisha Quinn: Junior, Coyle Cassidy High School, post, 6’0 feet with a nice jump shot, knows how to score with her back to the basket or on the boards.

Lindsey Bummila: Freshmen, Coyle Cassidy High School, post, good rebounder with good size, plays physical in the paint and can finish with contact.

Holly McFaddan: Junior, Coyle Cassidy High School, post, rebounds well, fights for position and is not afraid to get on the floor, physical, knows how to take a charge, nice touch around the basket, works well with her back to the basket

Georgia Bourikas: Sophomore, Fontbonne Academy, point guard, strong ball handler, moves well without the ball, draws defenders well and does a good job dishing it out to the posts.

Katie Alisip: Junior, Fontbonne Academy, shooting guard with good range, great anticipation and footwork defensively, quick in the backcourt

 Nicole Derba: Senior, Fontbonne Academy, post player with three point range, gets great positioning on the block and works well with her back to the basket.

Tori Perez: Senior, Fontbonne Academy, guard with a strong handle, great spin move, not afraid to be physical, draws defenders, quick dish.

Jen Gemma: Sophomore, Fontbonne Academy, post who fights hard for boards, excellent foul shooter, knows how to draw a foul, good footwork in the paint, is successful going middle or baseline.

Colleen Mulcahey: Junior, Fontbonne Academy, post with a specialty defending in the paint, great shot blocker, big presence in the paint

Audrey Bizak: Junior, Notre Dame Academy, post player with a good touch, gets positioning inside to post up or rebound, knows how to block shots and has a hook shot that is very difficult to defend.

Alex Dalton: Sophomore, Notre Dame Academy, guard who plays big and likes to attack the basket-especially for rebounds, good shooting range and sees the floor well.
Colleen McLelloun: Sophomore, Notre Dame Academy, post player with good fundamentals, keeps ball high and can play above defenders, solid high/low game, good shooting range, can finish with pressure.

McKenna Cudgma: Sophomore, Notre Dame Academy, very athletic guard who passes and rebounds well, plays fast place and can get out in front of defenders, hustles for lose balls, uses her body well.

Blake Dietreck: Wellesley High School, great patience with ball, all around game, good range, can drive through traffic and finish with ample contact, very athletic, great court presence, team player with energy; committed to Princeton University.

Sophia Mavrommatis: Freshmen, Wellesley High School, guard, great ball handler, knows how to draw defenders and can find the open player, quick dish, moves well without the ball.  Plays for the Jaguar’s AAU club.

Jasmine Adams: Junior, Rockland High School, point guard with great strength, nice reverse lay-up and a consistent shot from behind the arc.

Alyssa Jasper: Senior, Rockland High School, post player who uses her body well inside, can go baseline or middle and finish either way.

Kaitlyn Krish: Senior, Rockland High School, athletic guard with a nice elbow jumper, good ball handler, great left hand, 3pt range, big defense presence in passing lanes on defense.

Jess Kelley: Senior, Rockland high School, post player with good size, consistent 15ft jumper, rebounds well.

Melissa Daigle: Senior, Rockland High School, point guard or two guard, quick feet and hands, good ball handler with a nice outside shot.

Shannon Menchin: Junior, Needham High School, post player who plays big inside, sets several ball screens, knows how to get to the basket, can finish with contact.

Kate Mahoney: Senior, Needham High School, guard, very athletic, nice pull up jumper, passes well into the posts, drives smart.

Katie Benzen: Seventh Grade, Wellesley, point guard, great ball handler, fast down the floor, passes well into the post, works to get open, not afraid to get on the floor, knows how to use her size, knows how to draw fouls, not afraid to drive into the paint.  Has no difficulty playing at a higher level, certainly and up and coming star.

Maddie Ganser: Sophomore, Needham High School, good defender with quick feet and quick hands, fast to the hoop, uses body well to protect the ball, good defender.

Christina Deiorio: Senior, Cardinal Spellman High School, good outside shooter with 3pt range who can also go to the hoop, plays hustle defense, reads screens very well

Molly Anderson: Junior, Cardinal Spellman High School, two guard who can play the point, long with a good handle and nice left, can drive at will.

Alexis Udoji: Senior, Cardinal Spellman High School, 6’4 center with good footwork, uses her body well, consistent mid range jumper, great potential at the next level.

Sierra Schrader: Sophomore, Bishop Feehan High School, utility player who plays physical and hustles, runs the floor well, gets good positioning down low and rebounds aggressively.

Caitlin Abela: Sophomore, Oliver Ames High School, post player with good size and good shooting range, runs the floor well, plays smart at the high post with a great elbow jumper.

Nicole Bostic: Senior, Oliver Ames High School, guard with a nice spin to the basket, good anticipation defensively, solid ball handler, plays physical, works inside for rebounds, fast down the floor, 3pt range.

Asia Mitchell: Sophomore, Oliver Ames High School, point guard who uses her strength for an explosive first step past defense, drives to finish and can shoot from behind the arc.

Amber Holgate: Senior, Oliver Ames High School, great left,  knows how to pick apart a defense, reads the court, sees opportunities, rebounds aggressively, great hook shot, can finish with contact.

Jocelyn Paul: Senior, Oliver Ames High School, guard who plays well in the corners, consistent corner jumper, can play the point, good range, quick release.

Candace Steadman: Junior, Oliver Ames High School, post, plays smart defense, knows how to take a charge, long and athletic, works hard and does a good job defending the post.
