Introducing Morgan Lumb

October 17th, 2009
New England Recruiting Report

Freshman Morgan Lumb has cleary shown her abilties are beyond her years!!

Ninth grade combo guard Morgan Lumb, a North Andover resident, is not unfamiliar to opponents in the North Shore of Massachusetts. In fact, the River Valley travel league has seen her exploits for the past four years where she has averaged over 15ppg but that certainly does not tell the whole story.

Lumb is an extremely versatile player who has great court vision, is able to get to the lane at will with a lighting quick first step and was virtually without a turnover when we saw her play at the NESTARZ showcase at Northeastern.

Her craftiness and ability to go by defenders who were several years older than her was quite impressive. Morgan scored the basketball in a number of ways. One of the coaches observing her play said, "Lumb can really handle the ball. She can shoot long and midrange, drive to the rack, and finish with either hand. She's a quick, strong guard with a comprehensive offensive package."
Morgan’s game is definitely rounded out by her ability to defend and put pressure on the ball. She creates a ton of deflections and steals with quick feet and solid anticipation skills. She will join the North Andover High School team this year and, in our estimation, should have an immediate impact.
